The project was to support the purchase and transformation of Brixton Village, two Grade II listed market arcades in central Brixton.
We supported the £38m purchase of the estate and developed the £10m capital investment plan. Forging positive links with the existing tenant base and the local community was an essential part of delivering the project. We built good relationships with local residents, Lambeth Council, the Black Cultural Archives, Brixton Market Traders Association amongst many others.
We drafted the operational management plan, delivered public artworks, implemented a new, fair service charge, curated a series of events and activations, over hauled the branding, marketing and PR, Conceived the ‘Brixton Kitchen’ competition. A cooking competition judged by James Cochran, Claire Ptak, Jackson Boxer which delivered four winners who have gone on to create top restaurants/food concepts, as well as devising and delivering a 4000 sqft terrace above the service yard to create a roof top bar bringing in an additional £250,000pa in rental income.
